Directions for Use
PARABOND 1 is particularly suitable for the adhesion
of insulation materials like polyurethane foam, phenol resin foam, perlite
sheets, etc. used for roof insulation. Mineralized bitumen, non woven
fleeces and coated aluminium laminates can be used as lamination layers.
On different substrates PARABOND 1 gives a durable water resistant bond
whereby especially the adhesion on sendzimir galvanized sheet is excellent.
PARABOND 1 does not contain chlorinated hydrocarbons and
organo metallic compounds.
Substrates
Different concrete qualities and stony substrates mineralized
bituminized roofing materials, wood-like materials, galvanized or coated
sheet steel, etc. The substrate should be solid, clean, dry and free from
material foreign matter.
Bonding on talcumated substrates is not recommendable.
Adhesive Consumption
100 – 300g/m_ depending on smoothness of the
substrate and the materials to be bonded. For the border and corner zones
the adhesive application requires an extra of approx. 50%.
For adhering mineral wool the usage must be at least 300g/m_.
For the border and corner zones the usage is 400 respectively 500g/m2.
The adhesive has to be applied in ridges (25 – 75g/m),
4 ridges per metre will mostly be sufficient.
Open time
Do not apply more adhesive than can be covered in max.
5 minutes. The insulation material requires to be laid down and pressed
before skin formation sets in. We recommend to check from time to time,
by lifting the insulation material at the border side, if the adhesive
ridges have been squeezed flat. This is especially important with very
uneven substrates.
Setting time The reaction speed of PARABOND 1 is influenced
by the following factors:
Temperature;
Thickness of the adhesive ridges
Substrate (moisture containing or non-moisture containing).
The setting time on moisture containing substrates like
wood, concrete, etc is at:
5°C – approx. 5 hours
23°C – approx, 2_ hours
The setting time on non-moisture containing substrates
like SVS, bituminous etc. is at:
5°C – approx. 8 hours
23°C – approx, 5_ hours
In case of dry substrates and low humidity substrates
or covering material should be moistened.
The minimum processing temperature is 5°C.
At low temperature it is recommendable to heat up the containers in hot
water to approx. 50°C (do not boil the product).
